Bring bold New Orleans flavor anywhere! This easy Muffuletta Sandwich is the perfect make-ahead recipe for picnics, camping and beach days.

This is my absolute favorite sandwich to take on a road trip. It actually tastes better after sitting for a few hours. The inside of a loaf of French bread gets hollowed out and filled with thinly sliced meats, cheese, olive tapenade and pepperoncini. All the flavors meld together to create a lovely sandwich.
My very first road trip, with my husband Bo, we went over the mountains to Twisp. I made this sandwich. I’m pretty sure it was was of those seal the deal moments. We were driving down Twisp River Road, a long winding road, in search of a campsite. We were famished, so I brought this sandwich out of the cooler. He loved it and said it was the best sandwich ever.
